§ 12.07.1. Retention of positions.

Every person holding a probationary or regular appointment to a position in the classified service at the time this Charter takes effect shall retain his or her position until discharged, promoted or transferred in accordance with the provisions of this Charter and the personnel rules. Probationary employees shall acquire such protection at the completion of their probationary period in the same manner as if this Charter had not been adopted.
