§ 12.07.3. Protection of employees in newly unclassified positions.

When a position in the unclassified service is created under terms of this Charter, any person who has served satisfactorily in the affected position for at least five (5) continuous years prior to the position change shall be entitled to retain, for two (2) years or until transferred into a classified job, whichever is the shorter period, all rights and privileges to which that person would have been entitled in a classified job.
