§ 12.07.5. Elected to city office/leave of absence required.

  • Notwithstanding any other provision of law or this Charter to the contrary, any city officer or employee elected or appointed to an elected public office provided for in this Charter shall be placed on leave of absence from his or her position of city employment without pay while such officer or employee holds such office. Upon the termination of the service of such officer or employee in such office, such officer or employee shall be entitled to reinstatement in the same job title or classification at the same grade and step held when such officer or employee was elected or appointed to such office.
