  • Should the council fail to adopt such ordinances, then on June 6, 1972, and until otherwise provided by ordinance, the executive departments shall be the office of the mayor, office of the city attorney, office of the city clerk, and the departments of public safety; public works; public utilities; parks, recreation and public buildings; libraries and museums; and finance, with such powers and duties as they existed under the previous Charter of the city, except as inconsistent herewith.

    All other offices and agencies of the city which existed June 5, 1972, shall become part of the office of the mayor.
